So Baby Teague is definitely a girl. Go figure.
In addition to sharing our excitement over this news, we'd really like to ask you guys to join us in prayer as well.
During the ultrasound yesterday, they noticed a couple of cysts in her brain. Evidently, brain cysts are fairly common in fetuses between 16 and 24 weeks of age, and most of them disappear on their own. However, brain cysts, if paired with abnormalities in other organs, can also indicate trisomy 18, which is fatal shortly after birth. The doctor seemed pretty upbeat about our situation, but he has referred us to a specialist where we'll be receiving a Level II ultrasound that will look for abnormalities in those other organs, as well as check out the cysts more in depth. It's going to be a loooooong few weeks as we wait for the appointment and results.
James and I know without a shadow of a doubt that God is knitting this baby in my womb. We're praying that the cysts will resolve on their own and that further tests (amniocentisis, etc.) would not be needed, but mostly we're asking that God would show His glory through our family and this situation. We'd love to have you join us in prayer.
Thanks for being our friends. We'll definitely keep you posted.

Hey, Heather! It's been years since I've seen you or spoken to you, but something about those years in CGHS cheerleading uniforms just keeps folks close even when they are far apart! I stumbled across your blog when I was looking at Katie Green's and then I found Morgan's and then, low and behold, I am caught up with some of my favorite old-school friends!! You have such a beautiful family, and it is clear that you all have a wonderful time together. I know your house must be soaked in laughter all the time!
As for your latest post, congratulations on having a little girl! I know that makes you nervous, but you'll be great with pigtails and dresses and bows! I just have a huge peace in my heart about this baby's health. I feel that your doctor is doing the right thing by being so cautious, but I think she is just fine in there. I will be praying for you and yours.
Take care!

Oh, and my blog is http://jennanddannywatson.blogspot.com if you ever want to check it out!
We will be praying for you. Gods child 1st, on loan to you, right?! His creation will be perfect no matter what the outcome. We love you and are praying for you, more so about her being a frilly girl than anything. Now that would show God's sense of humor, wouldnt it!
Heather, I love you, and I will be praying for wholeness in God's name. He's got this.
I just love these verses from Psalm 139, and I know you know them, but I like typing them anyways...[NLT]
"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
[Psalm 139:13-19]
I'm so excited to hear it's a girl...you will do great with her. I will be praying that all those cists clear up on their own...and that she wants to be Miss. America when she grows up:)
Hi Heather!
